Police charge three people in Cessnock over prohibited drugs, weapons and cash

Three people have been charged after weapons, ammunition, drugs and cash were found at homes in the Hunter region.

State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have been investigating the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state since February.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives executed four search warrants at properties at Cessnock yesterday.

During the searches, detectives seized a shortened rifle, mobile phones, ammunition and $8000 cash; also prohibited drugs – including methamphetamine (ice) and cannabis.

All items seized during the operation will undergo further examination.
