Heavy-export lambs sell to a high of $284 at Griffith | The Rural

VENDORS offered 4550 sheep and lambs at the Griffith market on Friday.

According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service lamb numbers eased and the quality was good through the heavy and extra heavy lambs but a little more mixed through the trade runs.

Heavy and extra heavy weights were best supplied.

There was a small run of Merinos and Dorpers. Lambs 20kg to 24kg cwt were $5 to $7/head cheaper with limited numbers and quality issues.

Prices ranged from $164 to $197/head to averaged 790c/kg. Heavy lambs were back $4 and sold between $190 and $242/head and averaged around 750c/kg cwt.
